Timber Frame Homes, Barns, Cottages, and Cabins
Custom Designs and Kits Built by Experienced Craftsmen
Aurora Timberframes and Barns is dedicated to building with traditional joinery typical of colonial New England homes and Maine barns. We choose a few projects each year that challenge our skills, emphasize architectural detail, blend with the local environment, and make good use of natural resources.

Timber frame tradition meets innovation
Aurora Timberframes offers a variety of models and building styles – from mountain chalets, waterfront or island cottages, and primary residences to hunting cabins, down-sized homes, and barns. All will meet your goals of quality, appearance, and affordability.
In addition to timber frame and post and beam construction, we also offer variations that combine the look of traditional post and beam with new modern energy saving materials.
Bring us your floor plan and we'll build a timber frame around it
Timber
frame homes can bedesigned "around" a floor plan.
Already have a floor plan in mind? Whether you've found a professionally drawn plan or have sketched one on a napkin, we can incorporate your plan into a timber frame or post and beam.
Want some help designing a plan? Our designers will help you to create the perfect plan for your needs. We'll provide drawings and offer recommendations in energy efficiency, use of natural lighting, traffic flow and other things to give your building the character you seek.
Choose a floor plan. The strength of the timber frame construction virtually eliminates load bearing walls. You can personalize the floor plan to suit your lifestyle.
